Harnessing Intention to Power Your Success

daily planning intention success Jan 10, 2025

There’s a wise saying: "Where your heart goes, your treasure lies." This means that if we set our intentions clearly and act on them, we significantly increase the chances of achieving what we aim for.

So, you might be wondering, "Great... But how does this apply to me?" As we head into 2025, one of the most effective habits to cultivate is being intentional with our time. Ending each week feeling successful can change the course of your life by cutting through the "busyness" that often distracts us from achieving real results. Over the next few weeks, I'll share practical tips and tools to help you kick off 2025 with momentum and make it your best year yet, ending with a strong Q1!

Integrating Flexibility and Focus in Your Weekly Planning

This method involves using both your electronic calendar for scheduling appointments and events, and a paper planner for setting your weekly intentions. This dual approach allows for flexibility while keeping your true priorities in focus.

How It Works:

1) Set Weekly Intentions:

  • Every Sunday or Monday morning, take out your paper planner and electronic calendar.
  • Question: "Based on my monthly goals, what are my intentions for this week?" (e.g., If your goal is related to your career, determine how many buyer/listing appointments you need this week to meet your monthly targets.)

2) Visualize Your Week:

  • Transfer your electronic appointments to your paper planner to get a clear visual of your upcoming week.

3) Align Actions with Intentions:

  • Review your appointments: Do they match your intentions? If your goal is to secure listing appointments and you're on track, fantastic! If not, schedule time for lead generation activities.

4) Life by Design Check-In:

  • Are your personal goals reflected in your week? Make time for family, friends, or self-care by adding these to your electronic calendar.

5) Adjust as Necessary:

  • Cancel any appointments that don't align with your week's intentions.
  • Ensure you have enough flexibility to handle the unexpected—like Gary Keller, aim to keep about 60% of your calendar planned, leaving room for adjustments.

6) Plan Ahead:

  • Look at the next 90 days and block time for any major events or projects to stay on course.

7) Weekly Checklist (Optional):

  • If checklists work for you, create one prioritizing 'must-do' and 'nice-to-do' tasks for the week.

8) Weekly Review and Adjust:

  • Spend a few moments each week reviewing your achievements and decide if anything needs to carry forward.

This entire process should take less than 30 minutes, although it might initially take a little longer. As you get into the rhythm, this planning method will become second nature, providing you with clear insights and actionable steps to meet your business and personal goals effectively.

By truly understanding how your goals translate into daily and weekly actions, you gain the clarity and focus needed to advance in your business and personal life. Start this week, and see how intentional planning can lead to extraordinary results!
